Artist Collaborations & Community Projects

01

How does GALI collaborate with artists on their designs?

We collaborate directly with First Nations artists and art centres to transform their artworks into premium men’s swimwear and accessories.

Each collaboration is underpinned by a licensing agreement that ensures artists retain full ownership of their Intellectual and Cultural Property (ICIP).

Artists have full say in how their artwork is represented - they approve the design, placement, and overall look before production.

Every collaboration begins with a conversation to understand the story behind the artwork and ensure cultural integrity is maintained.

Artists receive a 10% royalty on every product we manufacture, ensuring their work is valued fairly and their rights remain protected.

02

How does GALI choose which artists to collaborate with?

We select artists based on the story behind their artwork, ensuring each piece has a meaningful narrative to share. We also consider how the artwork can translate effectively onto fabric, creating swimwear that honors the original design while becoming wearable art. Every collaboration is built on respect and shared creative vision, ensuring artists’ perspectives guide the process. Ultimately, we aim to showcase the breadth and depth of Indigenous art, highlighting diverse styles, stories, and cultural connections through every collaboration.

03

What percentage of sales do artists receive?

Artists receive a royalty of 10% on every product we make. Royalties are paid upfront every quarter, on the full retail price - even when our products are on sale. Their work is always valued fairly and transparently.

04

How does GALI support First Nations communities?

We give back 25% of our profits to First Nations artists and communities.

Since launching, we have raised over $90,000 in income and donations for artists and communities.

We've supported a range of community projects, including education and literacy programs, youth activities, LGBTQIA+ initiatives, and projects that connect Aboriginal youth with Country.
